The sad thing to me, here, is that they will be flagging nsfw content based on algorithms (we all know how accurate they are), and I would imagine that one of the first things those algorithms will be searching for is tags. I could be wrong, but it seems likely.
So, I’m assuming, this means that anything tagged nsfw, or blogs already flagged nsfw by their owners, could end up getting purged.
Now, one of the first tenets of being a good fandom citizen is providing a tagging system for your readers/viewers. I’ve always tried to be a conscientious tagger of all things nsfw, even including mild nudity. But if their algorithms start flagging that tag, I’ll be in the crosshairs.
So, essentially, anyone here, who was doing the right thing, and working hard to curate safe spaces for their readers is now going to run the risk of getting deleted, or their blogs purged, and that kind of sucks. This is the opposite of a solution to fixing the very real p0rn problem here, imo.
I will no longer be using the nsfw tag. If any of my followers want to avoid nsfw content, please blacklist vatican cameos.
And if anyone else wants to use the vatican cameos tag in place of nsfw, please do!
Good idea. I’m going to be doing this. Thank you.
This is a good idea but keep in mind that people might have been using that tag for something else before. I know in my archives it was used to tag all mentions of it in the show.
So I need some more people to follow to get things a little louder.

Tumblr doomsday update: 4/5
Found a few more flagged posts and amazingly got some popular posts unflagged! YAY!
Also, some more good news-I found a site that can export my blog by tag! Meaning I don’t have to go through and resort everything by hand again. I am over the moon and it should make the whole process of backing up much much easier for me.
Bold of everyone to make fun of superwholockers like they didn’t have the best and most creative edit and gif makers ever in the history of this website.
Photoshoot inspired by the TJLC community, that in the middle of ups and downs gathered lots of evidences, analysis, metaphors and studies that pointed to a explicit concretization of John and Sherlock’s romantic relationship in Sherlock BBC. Despite the current course of queerbaiting the show seems to take, TJLC is still working and ramifying. Those three years of “conspiracy” served not only to produce more than 50 hours of video content on Youtube or countless essays and metas from Tumblr to Google Drive, but also to awake in its members a hunger for careful and attentive readings of fiction. “One day the true story may be told”, said Arthur Conan Doyle in his last words for Sherlock Holmes. There’s no doubt in that. And if destiny is fair, the story will be told by the hands of a TJLCer. Get ready to believe and keep believing. TJLC has its own life and we’re part of it.
ill be real im getting kinda really annoyed with people who are complaining about pillowfort features. pillowfort was not made to handle this much traffic right now. the mods are open about what the site can handle and that it is very heavily in early beta. people who seem confused about the fact that it isn’t Tumblr 2.0 right now are missing the point that it is UNDER DEVELOPMENT and it was nowhere near ready to accommodate tumblr’s policy announcements and the wave of panic and safe-guarding tactics.
take a deep breath, give em a donation and grab a link, and support PF so it can reach its fullest potential rather than ragging on features because it can’t immediately do what you want it to do.
Also, when it’s working, it seems really cool? I’ve been essentially using it just like tumblr but w/ the added bonus of being able to protect my personal posts etc. I’m excited to figure out how to use the groups and other features, too.
Don’t spiral into despair and rage-quit because a platform that is in still beta is acting like a platform that is still in beta.
