All the blue fabrics have silver/golden flakes that remind me of stars and constellations. It took FOREVER to finish, but damn, the end result was worth it. It’s the biggest one i’ve done in a while (biggest ones i ever did were queen sized, ages ago) and now i remember why i usually stick to lap quilts LOL
Once again, the music track is from Mendelssohn’s Lieder Ohne Worte: Op 85 No. 40, titled “Elegy.” I’ve mentioned the significance of this series of compositions in ACD’s Sherlock Holmes stories here.
This is (of course) about Sherlock and John – their regrets for the past, the what-could-have-been; and their shared desire for the future, which is yet to be written but already foretold: they will always be back at 221 B, where they belong ever since the beginning, with each other.

You’re killing me with all the fan vids today @holmesianscholar and I can’t believe you found this old thing!! Hahahahaha sharing is caring, so THANK YOU!! Plus how meta was ACD that he specifically chose Lieder Ohne Worte for Holmes to play for Watson (per Watson’s request)? Songs without words and the love shared yet invisible on the printed pages…… geeeeeeeeeeeeeeh the old man was such a romantic I can’t take it.
I’m here to show to y’all that video edit, created by @s-mess9717 and me. We totally love BBC Sherlock and we both are huge Johnlock shippers (maybe you’ll notice it watching the video…), so we decided to create this heartbreaking video edit. We wanted to represent all the saddest, hardest, most painful moment of this show in one video, so if you’re looking for an happy Johnlock video you shouldn’t watch this.
