UPDATE

Sorry for the lack of posts! I’ve been busy since my sister is graduating from college on Saturday and I work 2 jobs now (RIP free time). After this weekend I’ll get back into the swing of things once again. Until then, enjoy this random gif I found

Nice interview in which he mentions how meditation helps him.

Mr. Cumberbatch, what is happiness for you?

Happiness for me is just being; just being at any given moment. If you are searching for happiness, you are not happy.

That’s a profound answer!

It
is true though. It’s the pot at the end of the rainbow, if you start
looking for it. But I like the idea that your mind has the power to
shape your own reality — however dire, however difficult your
circumstances may be.

“Sherlock Holmes 3″ Is Still Happening…and Has a Release Date

geekcavepodcast:

Sherlock Holmes 3, the sequel to 2009′s Sherlock Holmes and 2011′s Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, will hit theaters nine years after the second installment. Sherlock Holmes 3 is currently scheduled for a December 25, 2020, release.

The film will once again feature Robert Downey Jr. as Holmes and Jude Law as Dr. Watson. Chris Brancato (Narcos) wrote the script, but there is not a director attached to the project yet.

Hey if I ever like or reblog something from your intra-fandom nemesis or whatever pls don’t hate me or think I’m taking sides because straight up I don’t know wtf kind of Greek tragedies are playing out in this fandom half the time

#its not my job to keep track of who’s mad at who

Not gonna lie: people have sent me angry messages and unfollowed me because I reblogged something from someone they hated

LSiT’S metas

Now that LSiT gave official permission to archive her metas, I’ll be keeping it up indefinitely

@inevitably-johnlocked

I’m in tears. Thank her for us all. It means so much.

Since this is a more permanent arrangement, and there are a few people who are having problems, I’m updating this:

Link to the entire drive:

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B-R0-ikRKha4Si1rUnF6WHBmRG8

Link to LSiT Meta Documents folder:

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B-R0-ikRKha4YzVNc2hscnJRbjg

Link to LSiT from AO3 Folder (best way to read M-theory):

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B-R0-ikRKha4Rk9DbGJZN2Q5dlU

Link to Scrapbook X Data Files

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B-R0-ikRKha4UmxkdWEwMzFuWVk

A Few Notes about the Meta Uploads:

 ·
It includes (only) the posts on LSiT’s “Meta
Masterlist”

·
The only hyperlinks that should work are external
ones. So even if a meta *IS* saved and *IS* on the drive, if she links in a
post “I wrote more about this here”, that link won’t work, because it is to her
original (deleted) location

·
If it’s a reply, I titled it “Reply
sometimestheaskersname quick couple of word summary”. I don’t know how accurate
these titles are.

·
For the most part, gifs don’t work

·
Links to videos don’t work

I used a Firefox extension called “Scrapbook X”

o  I went to
the Meta Masterlist page, and hit “capture all”

o  I will
upload the raw data from all this

o  If you can
get the data to work on your version of Scrapbook X, it should look like the
original post (pictures included)

@gwyndall was kind enough to mention to me that much of LSiT’s stuff is archived at the wayback machine. Go to https://archive.org/web/ and paste the URL of the original content. The URL for the “Meta Masterlist” was:

http://loudest-subtext-in-television.tumblr.com/metas

rb since it looks like i may not have yet since making a tumblr, and cos there are new folks here whe might not have seen it.

I have been pining for this for so long, thank you so much!!! I feel like a kid in a candy store now! I wish she was still here to talk meta with us!

People Are Talking About…

@garkgatiss discussed Sherlock’s 5-act structure, Bond, and Hannibal to explain how S4 contributes to the writers’ broad objective of fixing misinterpretations of Holmes and homophobic tropes. Once you’ve read it, here’s some commentary on 5-act structure.

@green-violin-bow explained how the idea of “historiographic metafiction” helps us make sense of S4 and the show’s overall structure.

Cast & The Powers That Be

Martin Freeman gave a few interviews. This one goes over his career, but the real controversy came over this one, in which he supposedly said that Sherlock isn’t fun for him anymore. He specifically refuted this as a false interpretation of what he said here and here. @artemisastarte commented on why we should take the original interview with more than a few grains of salt.

Miscellaneous

Apparently, the first TJLC meta came out before the show even aired!

Back from the Dead

An old LSiT post on mirroring in TSoT has sparked new discussion.

@iwantthatbelstaffanditsoccupant added new thoughts to a discussion of who shoots John.

LSiT tweeted about why it’s good to move past the idea of an ARG.

@weeesi‘s classic, must-read series on queer coding in the canon is making the rounds again.

Coming Soon

@devoursjohnlock is continuing a meta series on The Hound of the Baskervilles.

@garkgatiss is preparing the fourth installment of the Poetry or Truth series. Haven’t read parts 1-3? Check them out here.

@possiblyimbiassed is continuing a meta series on an EMP reading of Sherlock’s drug use; start here.

@waitedforgarridebs in preparing the next installment of the Game Theory series; check out previous installments here.

Did you write some cool stuff that I missed? Drop me a message and I’ll stick it in next month’s review. Check out the About page first.
