Alert me in the following extraordinary, impossible cases:
1) BBC Sherlock is canceled 2) A Tabloid reports Martin Freeman to have done something equally as heroic as Benedict Cumberbatch did last week (like gave the Heimlich to a man choking on chips in Hyde Park last February or something ridiculous) 3) Queen Elizabeth II interacts with the new Sherlock content in an adorably-cute-for-an-old-person kind of way (like her James Bond/Olympics stuff) 4) Any Sherlock actor reports doing anything related to their in-universe persona but not related to the escape game (for example, Mark Gatiss has tea with Corbyn or Khan, Toby Jones volunteers at a children’s hospital, Rupert Graves is a key witness in a petty crime)
IF one of these incredibly unrealistic things happen any time soon, then, and only then, will I consider the possibility of an ARG in relation to the events of The Geek Interpreter.
Twitter Sherlock and John are on another case. I put all the most relevant tweets here for my own use and thought i’d share this if anyone wants to get quickly up to date. (Also p.s. to spoil the ending for yourself read ‘the man with the twisted lip’)

“A missing husband” . Sherlock was missing his husband in S4. Someone stole him and replaced him with an imposter. John was missing Sherlock too, because he’s been stuck in some other alternate universe.
Talking about whether the man who disappeared is a ghost or not. (ghosts of the past? all the talk of ghosts pre-s4??)
The TOY SHOP!! In the canon story, the toy in question was some bricks. But this particular toy shop they’ve photographed…do you know what they specialize in?? Toy theatres. Umm…the curtain rises?? All the S4 clues that we’re watching a show within a show??
And then this comment:

Also, this particular ACD story might have been chosen because the subtext is very relevant. It’s about a man who wears what is essentially a mask. Like a facade. He does it because he discovers he can make much more money, and wants to provide for his wife and give her nice things. Maybe he thinks she wouldn’t like the ordinary him, so every single day of his life for years he goes out and disguises himself as someone else to make more money. Just like Sherlock tries to maintain the facade that he thinks John loves him for. Even though John, like Mrs St Clair, would love the ordinary man underneath. Mr St Clair’s scheme is eventually foiled when his wife catches the merest glimpse of what he has been hiding, then is determined to locate her missing husband.
One more thing.

This was posted by the ContactSH twitter a few hours ago, and it just hit me after a random thought and I’m not a Londoner, but I’ve been there and isn’t this the exact view from the BBC Broadcasting House?????
Even the angle fits, because we can see the London Eye in the background. I don’t think someone not working for the BBC or with the BBC could get that picture, right????

After reading this postI’ve been investigating a bit cause that photo was haunting my soul. And, in my opinion, it could only be done from the BBC building. i am gonna explain why.
– This is the photo on that twitter. We see the clock in that tower thing, and that semicircular building at right. Keep that in mind.
– The photo could be taken from this 4 places. Place 3 and 4 are impossible because from 3 we couldn’t see the semicircular building. and 4 doesn’t match the clock view from the tower.
– So, 1 & 2 (which is BBC) I initialy though it was taken from 1, but I used google Maps a bit more and saw this:
– The building attached to that round tower is shorter so we couldn’t get that clock perspective, clearly from higher a place. So I think it’s from the BBC, exacly from spot 2. Also if you look at the first pic (the twitter one) you can see at left a wall with a pattern that looks exactly like this one in the BBC.
Please let me know if you think it was taken from any other place and why. This is driving me crazy. I am 99% sure it’s from the BBC building.

Spot two is in fact the only place you could get the shot from.
But- doesn’t ContactSH canonically own a drone? This picture could easily be taken by a drone. I’m not sure of London’s drone laws however, so whether or not this would be allowed- I don’t know. It is however another possibility.
Though to slightly counter my own point, he does immediately tweet after “I’m not going to jump”, so the Sherlock associated with the acc is canonically on the building, however, the person behind the acc may not have been.
I really hope that this reading of tfp, as John’s tab, which @the-7-percent-solution has been talking about since practically the moment the episode aired, and which has been expanded upon incredibly skillfully by @marcespot, gains the traction it deserves, because it results in some absolutely gorgeous textual call-and-response, and unfolds some truly beautiful johnlock dynamics.
Waterfall vs. Well
In TAB, Sherlock comes to the understanding that, no matter how brutally he feels he needs to wrestle with his inner demons, and no matter how brutally they beat him, with John by his side, everything is fine. John in Sherlock’s dream is a super manly man, with full control over his pistol (hur hur), and the ability to stand with Sherlock, even in this place where his inner Moriarty is beating the crap out of him, and his emotions are on full, gushing display.
John is all he needs, in order to take the leap at the end of dream. He does it willingly, joyfully, with complete confidence.
John, on the other hand, has not managed his emotions at all, which is abundantly clear from the entirety of s4, and I think, might account for a lot of the ooc stuff we see in tst and tld. He’s caught in a deep conflict, between the dissatisfaction of the hetero cover story life he’s chosen for himself, and the real connection he wants to have, with Sherlock. He isn’t the man he wants to be.
Rather than the free flow of emotion, potentially overwhelming, and powerful, that Sherlock experiences at the end of tab, John is deeply stuck. I know on a textual level everything about the well in tfp is dumb, but on the level of the dream, it’s incredibly profound.
