I’ve changed my avatar in preparation for the day of action to save net neutrality.
Net neutrality is really important. Basically, right now, the internet is treated as a utility, like water and gas. Everybody’s rates are the same, and nobody can pay more for faster or better service.
This may be about to change.
The FCC and Chairman Ajit Pai want to reclassify the internet to make it just like phone and cable services, i.e., companies charging exorbitant prices for shoddy services and charging even more if you want faster service.
If net neutrality fails, ISPs can slow down or even block websites completely, which would stifle and kill the innovation, creativity, and free expression the internet has allowed us to have. Without net neutrality, the internet will be just like cable TV: the content you see is only what the provider puts in front of you.
That means if they don’t like your startup website or the website you made for your new company, they can charge you exorbitant fees, which they then pass down to consumers, for allowing your website to even exist.
That means that if they don’t like anything the Resistance does (and they wouldn’t like most of it; Comcast and Verizon are multimillion dollar donors to the GOP), they can block these websites. Your efforts at resisting the Trump administration will be suppressed.
If you are poor, or live in a rural area, you won’t be able to afford the exorbitant rates ISPs would charge for even basic internet access. This is designed specifically to target the poor and POC.

Because
of the kerfuffle over the stupidity and inaccessibility of the new Livejournal terms and conditions, I
thought it wise to set up a Dreamwidth account for the benefit of people
who are no longer comfortable using LJ. It made sense to do this
anyway, because I’ve always been worried that if Livejournal should have
a fatal meltdown, I would have to reload everything manually to another
site, and this latest situation gave me the nudge to get on with it.
I
(hopefully) transferred everything over to a new DW account
yesterday. Of course, at present all the links in my Index and inside any transcript page go straight
back to the Livejournal entries, and it’ll take me weeks months to update the links to go to the Dreamwidth equivalent pages, plus I’ll also have to edit the many
many
many many … oh so many … Go to Part 2 / Return to Part 1 links inside each page of the transcripts. So that’ll be fun(!) And there was me, thinking that this Easter I might get a peaceful holiday for once, with no Sherlock work to do …
But anyway, if you would rather follow me on
Dreamwidth instead of Livejournal, my new account is here. In future I’ll post anything new to DW and it should automatically cross-post to LJ.
For
the present I’m not doing anything to my Livejournal account, mainly
because of all the
comments which kind people have made on the transcripts and on my fics,
which
didn’t transfer over to the equivalent Dreamwidth pages. [ETA: someone
advised me how to transfer the comments as well, and hopefully they’re
migrating over as I write!]. But unless
things get drastically worse on LJ, I won’t be thinking about deleting
my LJ account any time soon.
*cries* And I just realised that someday soon I should probably update all the links in my Tumblr announcements to go to the DW versions.
*grumbles* I don’t get paid enough for this shit. Oh, wait, I don’t get paid at all!!

It’s
my birthday on the 20th April, and I’m really not looking
forwards to it as it’s going to be ridiculously empty & I hoped anyone
reading this could help.
I’m Very disabled & I have to spend 95%
of the time in bed & most of that lying down flat. I’m in
immense & constant pain and my head feels like I have permanent flu
all the time (real proper fevery flu).
As you can imagine this
is not very conducive to making real life friends, I did have lots when I
was fit and well and could put time and effort into keeping up
friendships, but they’ve dwindled somewhat now that I can’t. I also have
a very teeny family. & I’ve worked out that on my birthday I’ll have 1 present and about 6 cards to open if I’m lucky.
So I
wondered if, out of the kindness of your hearts, on the 20th April you
could send me a fun message to cheer me up, or tag me in a post, or
write something to me to keep me occupied, or post something nice for me
to look at & take my mind off the dullness of being in bed 24/7.
I’m
not doing
this for any kind of sympathy or pity – it’s just that my birthday is
quite utterly sad otherwise – for the past 2 years I’ve asked people to do this & I
got a wonderful response and even last year had some amazing people send me things from my Amazon wish list, so I had actual presents to open, which was most unexpected and utterly delightful.

Please, unfollow this person on twitter. They download fan videos from YouTube and re-upload on their twitter account without credit.
What I find most revolting about my work being stolen is that they didn’t just re-uploaded, they cut out last 4 seconds of my fanvideo so people on Twitter won’t see my YouTube username.
It’s disgusting. If you want to share a video on Twitter, share by using YouTube link. and for the love of God, don’t just cut out bits and bobs from other people’s works. Making fanvideos takes time. “Love, Sherlock”(the one that they re-upload) took me 10 months to make, from May 2016 til February 2017.

If you’re one of the people wondering why it’s 2017 and Sherlock Holmes and John Watson still haven’t kissed on TV, then you might be interested in what I have to say !
As an aspiring writer/director, I want to right decades of wrongs and finally free these characters and finally allow them to be happy together.
What I offer you is Sherlock Holmes and John Watson, both young (early 20s), both queer. The action would take place in modern Paris (because I’m a poor french worm)
Now, why am I telling you all that :
The project is only at its development stage, meaning I’m still working on the story (though the main pitch is already defined). Also, it’s all amateur work, so I’d be doing this on my free time, with my own money etc..
So basically, I need people interested in this project to help me out !
For the writing phase:as I’m not a walking ACD canon Encyclopaedia, I might need a lot of help concerning the canon and especially the cases. I might also need help writing said cases.
For the filming phase:I’ll need actors (preferably french speakers), but also sound engineers, scripts… (but we have time for that)
