More of my photoshoots at Sherlocked today. I got to have tea with Hudders in 221B! And at the group shoot with Steven Moffat he actually fangirled over my Tardis/WhoLocked wheelchair. It was so cool!!
But don’t worry you’ll still get to see Aris, *spins wheel* one of the wedding guests at table 17, *throws dart* and one of the cgi fish from the aquarium
As long as you sign this waver acknowledging the fish is straight
did y’all know that Sherlocked US is now soliciting questions for the panels? You don’t have to be attending to submit questions 🙂
Oooo, this could be good. But, will they pick and choose which to answer? Who gets to choose? They’ll likely just load the q&a with questions so they can suck their own dicks. More than they already do, mind.
Ok, but look at these topics… @monikakrasnorada Sunday is all about Mary.
WTF???
MARVELOUS MARY MORSTAN
ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME????
I second your tags 1000%, @221bloodnun. I have had rather nefarious ideas on that front that I won’t post here because I don’t want either Marystans nor AAstans in my messenger giving me shit. But yes. I wholeheartedly agree. Ugh. This fucking burns my biscuits. Jesus.
AND WHAT EVEN ARE THE REST OF THOSE TOPICS?? ARE THEY SO OUT OF TOUCH WITH THE SHOW THEY GAVE US THIS SERIES THAT THIS IS WHAT THEY THINK ANYONE WANTS TO TALK ABOUT????????????????
Ok, but look at the daily topics @teaandqueerbaiting Some of us are quite riled.
If you look at the schedule, they give descriptions of each panel – most of these are only named and “themed” according to who is on the panel (eg. Andrew is doing the villain panel alone, so it’d be useless to ask about Culverton, Eurus, etc, except in the context of his personal experience with those actors.). Amanda is on the Mary panel alone, I assume in an effort to fill time (esp. since neither Martin nor Ben will be there – if Amanda is one of the only actors they could get of COURSE they’re going to have a panel on Mary), and will most likely just be talking about her career and experience with Sherlock.
The panel you most likely want is “Meet the Makers”, or “Birth of an Episode” to talk to the creators.
Why is there a panel on TSO3?
Nooooo!!!!
A panel regarding TSo3? Is that where they sit and vehminetly deny that this episode is the gayest episode in the history of gay episodes ever made? Because if they try and justify that as a beautiful love story between John and Mary I will loose my god damn mind.
That’s all they’ll be trying to do though. If they filter questions from the start on they can direct the conversations into a direction they want… welcome heteronormativity
I HAVE NO CHILL I LITERALLY ASKED THIS ON THE FACEBOOK PAGE
aaaand somehow it got worse
@moonlightlock in all honesty, they may have picked nicer questions but that doesn’t mean the crowd will be nice. I expect some outbursts and the overall con feeling will be hostile (not the side fan friend group things, but like con run TPTB things)
Well, I was JUST SAYING last week that Mofftiss would either screen questions for Sherlocked or not show up or have the Q&A portion at all of their panels…. and lo and behold…. they’re screening the questions. Like, I GET it, you wanna keep the questions quick and to the point (I have been to Q&A’s where the askers are just… not really asking anything) but guaranteed there will not be a single question there about what the hell happened in S4.
Yes this.
bisexual-mindbungalow said: For the ones who have never been to a convention, what is screening the questions?
Ah, sorry I should have provided a link. It’s essentially picking and choosing which questions they will be asked so that they can maintain a good image. Normally at a con’s Q&A panel, there are mics up in the audience so people can line up and ask questions without the panelist’s prior knowledge of them, so it’s on-the-fly answers. When screening questions, however, they can prep their answers in advance and pick and choose what to answer.
Basically… It’s a PR thing. Only saying exactly what they want and need to say and won’t answer the hard questions they haven’t prepared for. It kind of defeats the purpose of a con Q&A, because it’s very NOT interactive at all.
If anyone needed more of a confirmation that Mofftiss know how much s4 sucked. What a bunch of whimps
Is anyone from the UK going to Sherlocked USA that would be able to buy me things there (I’d put money into your paypal in advance) & post them to me once you get back? (I say UK only because postage from USA would cost heaps more) if so please private message me.
Registration for 221B Con 2018 is now open!! If you pre-registered, you should have received a confirmation email. If you did not, please contact reg@221bcon.com. Please note that we have a new registration system this year, so there may still be some kinks to work out. Let us know if you have any issues.
Heylo gang, need your attention for a scalding second! @mssmithlove1 and a ragtag team of knowledgeable nerds are making some plans and preparations for a new Sherlock convention in Minneapolis!
We’ve got a great team so far, packed with con-building experience and no shortage of enthusiasm, and are excited to dig in our various footwear to bring this thing to life!
It would primarily be a Sherlock convention, but plenty of other fandoms would be represented with panels/meetups/merch/etc. (Yuri On Ice, Check Please!, MCU, Harry Potter, whatever you all expressed interest in), and, though we can’t give specific dates yet, it’s looking like Summer 2018, because we all need to budget for 221B Con just like you!
This is obviously still a ways off, but, before we start booking things, we want to get some basic info from all of you so we can tailor-make this experience as much as possible. To that end, please take two minutes to fill outthis survey, and reblog to spread the word!
We would appreciate all the help possible!! If you could take a few minutes out of your day to complete this, we would be forever grateful!! XOXO!
Tagging some fabulous folks to help spread the word! We’d love any and all responses we can possibly get! Thank you so so much!
So, after seeing many of our beloved conventions begin to close their doors and/or go on indefinite hiatus, a few of us have been kicking around the idea of starting a new Sherlock Convention altogether! We’ve been so sad to see so many wonderful events end and don’t want to lose any more opportunities to gather together as a fandom and celebrate the things we love! While our ideas are still in the works, we want to make this a very inclusive event where you can come celebrate the shows, movies, comics, ships and fandoms you love. Writers, artists, cosplayers, fans and everything in between are welcome! We plan to have lots of panels, costume contests, drinking games, dance parties, artists alley, the works. While this is going to be Sherlock Holmes centered, we do plan to also include events for other beloved fandoms (i.e Yuri On Ice, Check Please, Eyewitness, Marvel Universe, etc). We’ll be asking for more advice on those once we get times/days/places nailed down.
We are fully aware of how much work and commitment this would take and while we are in the early stages of planning, we think we could really make it work with the right support! So we would LOVE to get started on asking for help from our fellow fandom members now! We are considering doing the actual convention in the north/northeastern states of the U.S (Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Minnesota, etc.) where some of us are located and are currently scouting out areas to hold the convention at.
If you are in these areas and/or can travel easily to these areas for the actual event and would be interested in helping this new Sherlock Con come alive, we’d love to hear from you! Please send me a message if you have interest in becoming part of our staff and/or volunteering, and I will add you to our Tumblr group. If you are interested in attending this event and/or want to help get the word out, please like and/or reblog as well as signal boost for all our fellow Sherlockians!
*Anyone with convention planning experience as well would be a major help!*
Thank you all very much and we are so excited to make this happen!
