the thing for me is that even if i’m wrong about the 4th episode, i feel like that’s going to be easier to process than if i hadn’t had anything to fall back on on sunday. the grief won’t be as potent, and i’ll be able to deal with it more rationally, though i’ll probably still be living in the pit of despair for a while afterwards. at this point, i’ve got nothing to lose, and the pros of having fun with the tinhatting (for the last time ever) are bigger than the cons

you know i really do believe that there’s going to be a 4th episode but i’m not that convinced about apple tree yard and there’s all this false info being spread and i can just see that we’re gonna do that thing again where things don’t exactly go as y’all planned and everyone’s just gonna abandon all logic and critical thinking 🙂

i wouldn’t call it exciting when i know that a shitton of my friends might get their hearts broken again. i, too, am hardcore tinhatting rn and i love it, but some people tend to have very specific expectations, and if not all of them are met they act like everything they’ve discovered up to that point is just false and useless.
ACD or BBC notwithstanding, the CASES DON’T MATTER. The magic, the spark, the entire fucking POINT is John and Sherlock’s relationship, the love they have for one another.
They wrote an episode where they removed that. They took the magic away and showed us what is left when you do so. It’s a nightmare scenario. It’s WRONG.
THEY DID THIS SO THE CASUAL VIEWERS WOULD ALSO SEE THIS.
THEY ARE PROVING TO THEM THAT THE STORY IS ABOUT SHERLOCK HOLMES’S HEART AND HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH JOHN AND THAT IT ALWAYS HAS BEEN SINCE CONCEPTION.
THEY ARE SHOWING THE WORLD THAT THE CASES. DON’T. FUCKIN. MATTER.
God I want to believe this! It’s such a great description of what happened in that episode.
