swimmingfeelsinajohnlockianpool pointed out that the line “Softer, Sherlock” sounds like it was delivered by Mrs. Hudson instead of Eurus and I wanted to make an edit.
If there are any other fucky audio bits you want me to edit as I have here, send them my way.
like i hate this but it sounds like the effect on the voice of the lady in the vivala.me vid
I may be crazy but it sounds almost like Mary to me?!
I can hear it being Mary! It’s just not fucking churros…
sometimes I’m like, what if the instrument both sherlock and eurus played wasn’t the violin but like… the trombone. or the recorder. or the piano, but sherlock can’t drag a baby grand out to sherrinford every time he visits, so he just brings a keyboard.
DRUMS.
sigh. so much that could have been
And of course they bring these out for special occasions and Christmas.
Ok. So up until this point I haven’t really participated too much with meta creation simply because I struggle with subtext and I always thought myself too slow to find anything. Anyway I was singing the first part to Eurus’ song today and it occurred to me that the song may or may not have clues for us to find.
“I that am lost, oh who will find me?”
The lost special is the speaker,
“deep down below the old beech tree”
Beech trees are generally symbolic for the written word, so perhaps a link to the original story or something else (?)
“come succour me the east wind blows”
succour means ‘to give aid or assistance to’ so if this could refer to either the lost special itself or John and Sherlock. I favour John (”John Watson definitely in danger”) the threat being the east wind (Mary or Euros depending on your favoured theory)
“sixteen by six brother and under we go.”
This line is what got me. I thought that perhaps sixteen by six couldiI be a date. sixteenth of June. And then I remembered the tweet regarding Fireworks and Guy Fawkes day. Now I’ m an aussie so I have no idea what or when it is. So anyway that added up to nothing (its in November) anyway I did another search ‘sixteenth June Sherlock” to see what would come up. Lo and behold the first thing that comes up was John’s blog. The entry you ask?
Fucky??? I thought so too. I’m going to track down the rest of the song see what I can find. I haven’t seen anything like this so far, if you have any thoughts feel free to add them.

I can’t believe there’s legitimate meta about how Eurus’s song could actually be helpful
sometimes I’m like, what if the instrument both sherlock and eurus played wasn’t the violin but like… the trombone. or the recorder. or the piano, but sherlock can’t drag a baby grand out to sherrinford every time he visits, so he just brings a keyboard.
Well, I just googled how a tranquilizers gun looks like and I got this photo.
And yeah, I know there’d be many more types but looking again it’s even the same. The long thing. And looking back to Eurus’s gun, for me it doesn’t look like to a “tranquilizer gun”.
So make your deductions.
So it always has that long shape for shooting the tranquilizer.
Okay, so Mycroft is very obviously holding a pen in TST, and John is very obviously holding a pen in TFP, is there anyone holding a pen in TLD? ‘Cause then maybe we could assume TST is Mycroft’s “fixing” of Mary’s murder as evidenced by his “fixing” of Sherlock killing Magnussen at the beginning; TFP is John’s mind after he gets shot; so presumably Sherlock would be writing TLD, but was he ever holding a pen in that one? Does this make sense?
isn’t ‘Faith’ holding a pen, both as Faith herself and maybe even as Eurus? I’m sure she has a pen quite a few times – definitely as John’s therapist, if nothing else. I can’t recall whether she has one when talking to Sherlock as his ‘client’ though
Yes I thought about that like right after I posted this. So it could be her telling it? But that doesn’t make all that much sense to me unless she doesn’t actually exist and is, in fact, just a warped version of Sherlock himself.
it could just mean that sherlock and john aren’t narrating TLD and someone else is. eurus is also likened to the east wind, and people have been writing metas about how mary is actually the east wind so maybe it’s mary that’s narrating TLD?
OOH now that I like. And someone else pointed out that Smith is holding a pen at one point; it seems to be a villain writing episode.
yeah maybe it’s literally just a skewed narration from the Bad Guys, which makes sense, sorta, as both John and Sherlock lose their shit in … odd ways during that episode
Yes yes could be. My brain was not meant for meta lmao
Someone is definitely writing it because they kept talking about how Sherlock rewrote that story A Meeting in Samarra all throughout TST which kinda didn’t really have much to do with the content of the episode, unless Mary is the merchant somehow.
And then some very clever, detail oriented people, or the True Sherlockians as I call them, found that on the floor of 221B when the flat was blown up was the wedding song Sherlock wrote for John and Mary. That’s a pretty big inconsistency since they made sure to show us that Sherlock left the sheet music at the wedding for John and Mary to keep. So it shouldn’t have been in the flat at all. Unless they forgot to show us John moving back into the flat. Which is pretty important to the entire show so I doubt they would have.
The whole thing was screwy so I don’t know.
Yes it just makes sense to me for TST to have been Mycroft’s rewriting and TFP to be John’s but TLD confuses me.
I know this idea has come up more than once. In this post I will try to collect as much evidence, mostly from TFP, as possible – visual, textual, and narrational.
Visual
In this first scene together their hands seem to melt into each other. Sherlock does not expect to be able to touch his sister, and then their fingers interlace just like that. In the second picture both have become one. Sherlock is shining through Eurus’s reflection, her hear roughly being place where his heart is (head/brain and heart becoming one).
Additional note: If we assume that this is her real hair as opposed to the wigs she wore in TST and TLD, they both have dark curly hair.
Narrational
Sherlock and Eurus are very close in age. True, it’s never twins. But at least Irish twins, it seems. (Or just one person after all?)
Sherlock has been deemed a genius from the beginning. Eurus “was described as an era-defining genius, beyond Newton.”
Both play the violin. Eurus even plays a Stradivariusas does Holmes in ACD Canon.
Sherlock had no friends before John. “I had no one.”
Both love to be dramatic.
Both are prone to violence: Sherlock torturing the cabbie / throwing a man out the window / shooting Magnussen. / Eurus’s violent behaviour in TLD and TFP.
Both are seen in a cell of some kind: the padded cell in Sherlock’s HLV mind palace / the Sherrinford cell (All places from the HLV mind palace have real counterparts – so what about the cell? And how probable is it that two siblings both have been inmates of a cell in a mental hospital/prison at some time?)
Both are in a way attracted to Moriarty and are willing to play games with him.
Sherlock experiments on John in ThoB. Eurus experiments on Sherlock in TFP.
Both are very focussed on knowledge: “I don’t like not knowing.” / “She knew things she should never have known …”
Both are disguising themselves / hiding in plain sight.
Both are being used by Mycroft for matters of state security and intelligence.
Both are believed to be dead for years. Both times Mycroft is involved in the plots to fake their deaths.
Textual
“She was different from the beginning.”/”Because he attacks people who are different and preys on their secrets.” (Why Sherlock hates Magnussen)
“Listen. This is my hard drive and it only makes sense to put things in there that are useful.” / “I remember everything; every single thing. You just need a big enough hard drive.”
Sherlock being involved in the flight of the dead/saving Irene from terrorists/revealing the terrorist plot in TEH/ “She predicted the exact dates of the last three terrorist attacks on the British mainland after an hour on Twitter.”
“In any event, there is no prison in which we could incarcerate Sherlock without causing a riot on a daily basis.” / “The depth of Eurus’s psychosis and the extent of her abilities couldn’t hope to be contained in any ordinary institution.“
“That in your case, solitary confinement is locking you up with your worst enemy.” This can also be applied to Eurus’s imprisonment in Sherrinford.
Conclusion
These are a lot of similarities. Too much for coincidence, if you ask me. To me, Eurus is an exaggerated, overdramatic version of Sherlock himself. What he could have become without John’s friendship and Mycroft’s support, without the friends he has found quite late in life.
2nd- blink and you miss it. Sherlock is on the bridge after he says, “Its not who will miss it.”
Then we get this shot of the London Aquarium (excuse the status bar please)
3rd gunshot
4th- Euros
5th- right after Euros, right before the credits
Did you notice anything different about two of those guns?
#2 and #4 are the same. There is an extra piece of metal at the bottom under the barrel opening. #1,#3,#5 are all the same.
We’ve also got Euros wearing this when she shoots John (#2 ):
But the person with the other gun in shots #1, #3, & #5 is wearing a dark long sleeve shirt.
It’s not Norbury because she has a white shirt under her jacket cuff and the trigger of the gun is different.
Its not Mary either, because she is left handed and wearing gloves when she shot Sherlock:
However, there is someone who was wearing a black jacket and made a shot that looked similar to this
(if someone can get a shot without the status bar id be so grateful and would link your blog here. I know you cant see his sleeve but I promise its all black)
According to Mofftiss, we’re about to get the story they’ve been telling us from the beginning. I think we’re all in for quite a ride.
