Still, not all is lost

Just a heads up
It seems the Sherlock fandom rapture 2k17 that I predicted would happen regardless of how s4 went is beginning. BNF’s are trolling on Twitter. Ben Caron, the director of e3 has deleted his Twitter even though there are not threads bashing him. I can see hate being thrown around tumblr in bits and pieces.
I hope it doesn’t get worse. Maybe it won’t? I have no idea. But I implore you, if you think this will affect your well-being in any way shape or form please take a break. black list tags or block people. Even though I have never met any of you in person, I care about your well-being and mental health. I have been affected by wank and I’ll do everything in my power so that it doesn’t affect you.
The BNF’s namely the cishet gang, are now shaming us on twitter for reacting to the queerbaiting. Led by self appointed Protector General, the mob is forming to tell the ‘different’ the ‘other’ and the ‘outsider’ that we have no right to react. Evidently we caused Ben Caron to close his Twitter. I don’t know of one person who even mentioned him today. So the wars begin.
the worst thing about all this? i can barely stand the thought of watching a completely different adaptation that doesn’t have these specific john and sherlock in it. i was so in love with this show and they took it away from me
the i love you scene we all deserved
like i’m laughing but i’m also dying inside so idk
Who’s going to whisper “Norbury” in Mofftiss’s ears?
oh my god
I’m not happy the reviews are bad as retribution or with the intent to burn everything about the show down to the ground. I am finding the reviews comforting and validating because they are confirming what I saw with my own two eyes, which the show failed to do.
Attention LGBTQ Writers! A call for submissions
Tales that Echo is a brand new blog devoted to sharing the writing of queer authors like you. We’re looking for poetry, short stories, scripts, essays, and autobiographies. We feature all types of tales, from ghost stories to mysteries, comedies, feel-good romances, westerns, science fictions, and uplifting non-fiction. We believe in friendship, love, and Happily Ever After.
Too often are queer people forced to settle for one-dimensional television characters doomed to sexual crises and tragic endings. Tales that Echo looks to be a beacon of light in this changing age of storytelling. It’s about time the world heard what it really means to be LGBTQ, and what better way to express our complexity than through our stories?
All work featured on this site is family-friendly original content – no graphic depictions of violence or sex is allowed.
For every one of your submissions features, Tales that Echo will in turn promote your one social media profile of choice. In other words, send us one poem, story, or script and we’ll link our readers to your Tumblr, Twitter, Instagram, or personal blog. Share your voice with us and we’ll share your voice with the world.
Submissions are now open. Go to our submission page at talesthatecho.com and follow the guidelines. We screen every piece of work before it is promoted on our site. If you submit your work and it is not posted, do not be discouraged – please submit another work for consideration.
Two contributors will be randomly selected for $25 Amazon gift cards within the next month. Each work you submit enters you in for another chance at winning!
This blog is made FOR YOU, by volunteers – every person scanning your submissions and maintaining the site is doing so simply because they want to, for free. This blog is not partnered with any group or marketing campaign – Tales that Echo was made by LGBTQ people as a thank you for everything the online queer writing community has already given the world. This blog also has a page devoted to identifying organizations that provide crisis support, for those who may need those resources.
This site has been live for only 20 minutes. You are the first to read about this! So follow us on Facebook, on Twitter, and be sure to subscribe to our weekly “Top Ten Queer Works” newsletter. We promise not to spam your inbox.
We need all of your support!! This blog can only survive if you subscribe. Please reblog to help spread the word.
So what are you waiting for? It’s time for the world to hear your voice.
