Lots of great comments on this one. Sherlock’s chairs, with architecture and window reminiscent of TAB – I’m totally convinced now that Sherlock is doing therapy in his mind palace. (I love everyone in this bar.)
WHAT!!!!!!!!!
Oooo, I hadn’t noticed the chairs!!!! He’s talking to himself.
UGHGH SORRY I’M NOT GETTING MY NOTIFICATIONS ANYMORE. D:
THIS IS FUCKED!!! Nice.
Not only are the chairs like “sherlock chairs” in the second image, but they are kind of like “john chairs” in the first, only white and a little more “bony” (pun not intended? or??) HMM, what were the chairs like in the pilot,i forget…
Another case in point that Series 4 is fake. I even was telling my partner they were Sherlock’s chair. He didn’t notice.
@monikakrasnorada @gosherlocked @ebaeschnbliah @the-7-percent-solution and @tjlcisthenewsexy interesting signs from TST considering our discussions about choices. Interesting that the arrows go opposite to the way I would expect… I’ll look up some real signs from that area to see if they match…
“We just called the episode ‘The Final Problem’ for s—s and giggles. We don’t know yet, and I’ve been busy working on other shows. Our show gallops along like a glacier, but expect another ice age in the future.”
If i had to write BBC Sherlock as out of character as possible, I’d make John beat Sherlock to a pulp, mrs Hudson speed across London in an Aston Martin, Mycroft throw up from seeing violence and Sherlock confess his love to a woman.
Remember how The Six Thatcher entry from John’s blog appeared in ASIB – an actual episode, but no one seems to remember in s4 lmao…
Side note: This is the scene in which John puts on his coat on twice
But anyway… What I wanted is that Sherlock literally says that the counter is stuck at one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five, I don’t think that Moffat and Gatiss would choose 1895 by an accident, knowing WHAT happened in that year.
Also, what else I wanted to say, and… I probably should have started with this, cause it’s pretty weird… is that, Six Thatchers was published on 19th December but, John has written another entry after then and before the NY one
And, considering he wrote it right after it happened and the scene I am talking about happens AFTER the Christmas party, the question is, WHY is The Six Thatchers even on screen, it’s not the newest entry? Was Sherlock reading it? Was John staring at the pic of Sherlock wearing a hat? Who the hell knows… You know what would make MUCH MORE sense though? If Sherlock was looking at this
during the Christmas Party. At that time, TST would have been the latest entry, there is a photo of him wearing a hat, the counter on the blog is actually visible so it makes sense that he mentions it, long story short, it 100% FITS with all what he says during the Christmas party:
SHERLOCK: The counter on your blog: still says one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five. JOHN (pulling a mock-angry face): Ooh, no! Christmas is cancelled! (Sherlock points to the side bar which has one of the press pictures of him in his deerstalker.) SHERLOCK: And you’ve got a photograph of me wearing that hat! (x)
Except, instead of looking at a legit looking page that fits with what he’s saying, he is looking at this weirdly wonky page
A random photo of him wearing a hat covering up the hit counter and an unfinished entry that was supposed to be published months ago…? ?
I did a manip to demonstrate why the christmas party conversation fits much better if Sherlock was actually looking at the screen that we see a few scenes later, instead of that nonsense^^^^
This drives me bananas.
oh god. @monikakrasnorada remember that John’s blog timeline post I made as a joke a while back? It’s been in the back of my mind since, and it’s getting less funny each day……
Ever since S4 I’ve been using the tag “S4 fuckery” on posts about things from the series that make no sense. So here’s a breakdown of reasons why I think S4 is fake and that TJLCers are meant to pick up on that.
“The truth is rarely pure, and never simple”, which is an Oscar Wilde quote–when we are sure to look out for anything to do with Oscar Wilde. It’s like they turned on an enormous neon sign.
There’ll be no loose ends on my watch said Mycroft, who is literally Mark Gatiss.
The Garridebs moment, which was literally a “cliffhanger”–and the exact opposite of what we had expected to happen (i.e. the party who was guilty was the one to survive).
Head games (Euros playing head games, doctored footage, blatant inconsistencies when they KNOW how hard we watch the show tbh,
Sherlock hearing Mrs. Hudson speak when he’s at Sherrinford and she isn’t even there). This is *not* Eurus speaking; Eurus sounds nothing like Mrs. Hudson.
Constant mirrors:
-Gatiss’ comment about how if Sherlock was saying “I love you” to John he’d have to be looking in a mirror, and then BBC One’s recent tweet:
-Actual mirrors as well as mirrored images (for example in Mycroft’s home video). Look–here are just a few examples:
Lady Smallwood’s abrupt name change, shown as both E. Smallwood in the first episode and Alicia Smallwood later on the card she gives Mycroft. This might be a sign from Mofftiss to hint they are following in ACD’s footsteps: ACD mixed up Mrs. Hudson’s name with Mrs. Turner’s (hence the running joke on John’s blog where Mrs. Hudson comments using Mrs. Turner’s name and keeps on specifying that “This is Mrs. Hudson”). When ACD killed off Sherlock, The Strand lost a lot of subscribers. They could be recreating that scenario. Note that this is not my own theory; I have seen others discussing this here but I just can’t remember who.
“Targets wait,” Sherlock said. TJLCers are the target audience.
Every single one of Sherlock’s cases at the beginning of the first episode being about clues that don’t add up (maybe not so unusual, I grant you).
The smashing of BUSTS OF MARGARET ANTI-GAY THATCHER? come on.
The power ranger on the front of the car was the blue power ranger, who was played by a gay actor.
They literally wrote in the drink code. (“Is tea code?” Of course it is.)
Different versions of the same story are mentioned more than once: (Sherlock’s version of the Samarra story, Moriarty’s version of the manger story, the government’s version of Sherlock shooting CAM).
John’s fake blog entry, which has been discussed to death at this point so I won’t rehash it.
The heart medication that the client in the beginning of ep 1 was taking is “known to cause bouts of amnesia.” Kind of like TD12. I think there’s more to the TD12 thing and the amnesia. Pure speculation though…I can’t back this up of course. Not really.
There are still rainbows:
Also, I’ll leave this here: the video for Queen’s “I Want To Break Free,” which is the song Moriarty was listening to after he got off the helicopter, shares many visual parallels with S4…promoting the whole EMP/dream theory. See pics below.
