I can see a Garridebs moment leading into TLD, John now having realised that Sherlock really does love him and now he finally sees that Sherlock is lying to him, now and then (#understatement of the year), so that John now finally bursts, because he’s had enough (Loo even hinted at “someone” having that problem in her panel, and tbh apart from John I can hardly see anyone who is on the verge of breaking, and who has to).
On the other hand, I can also see it the other way round, John first goes through all of these realisations, which leads to a “Sherlock lied to me again, I know he is in danger except he said he’s not, so I’m gonna save him” – boom, Garridebs.
They said there is gonna be the most plot in the last 30min of episode 3. If they pull off the Moriarty-reveal and Garridebs simultaneously, I am gonna cry forever. Happy tears. Because I love pain.
… Considering the “quick man, if you love me” in TLD, Garridebs in episode 3 still makes the most sense tbh.

I haven’t have time to read the thing yet, but I’m seeing a lot of people talking about the relationship between the blog and the show in S4, and I thought it might be a good time to mention that Culverton Smith’s hospital wing probably opened for business the day of or the day after John’s stag night.
I think there was a lot of discussion early on about this date being 20 July, 2044, but it’s really 20 July, 2014 (not enough room for two 4s there).
The following day, John wrote up the Mayfly Man case, describing his “quiet, civilised evening” with Sherlock.
So civilised that it led him to create a persona based his darkest vision of himself, I guess.
Theoretically, there may have been a lag between the courtroom deduction scene in TSOT and John writing this post, but he needed no additional information after that scene to do it, so I’m betting that stag night occurred 19 or 20 July, 2014. Whether or not “the show is the blog”, this is support for Culverton Smith being a creation of John’s mind.
i’m sorry, but…. WAIT A MINUTE. JOHN’S DARK MIRROR, WHOSE ACTIONS TOWARDS SHERLOCK (the scene in his hospital bed) ARE FULL OF SEX/VIOLENCE PARALLELS, POSSIBLY WAS “CREATED” (his hospital is his castle indeed) AFTER JOHN’S STAG NIGHT?
the whole scene of sherlock praising lady carmichael’s intelligence and then there’s a shot on john’s face when he says it and then sherlock ends it on ‘well she married you sir carmichael maybe she saw something in you’ and then you remember this part in sherlock’s speech when he was like ‘when i say you deserve this man, mary, it’s the highest compliment i’m capable of’
Lady Carmichael stooped over her (“reformed criminal”) husband saying to Sherlock, “You promised you’d protect him.”
John stooped over his (“reformed criminal”) wife saying to Sherlock, “You swore you’d keep her safe.”
the entire scene of sherlock using toby to follow a lead was literally useless in terms of the plot…… but it had to be here because through the john’s blog lens we can tell that craig is a sherlock’s mirror (a genius with curly hair who can find any info on anyone because he’s that good), toby is obviously john (smart dog sherlock loves even when he fails which is….. Hm) and mary keeps toby on a tight leash, doesn’t think he’s that good at finding anything meanwhile john is behind with the baby strapped to his chest…..
this scene is so thick with symbolism and mirrors and foils it’s incredible writing imo
I think I never noticed John’s micro expression in the second to last gif, when he goes from slightly smiling his angry smile to completely loosing it after what Sherlock said. He fucking knows what Sherlock implied with that and look how it makes him feel.

And Sherlock keeps his tone and expression so neutral. There’s no accusation. He looks at John so openly because he’s conveying honesty, not blame. I hate them.

If this is reality, the writers are trying to make or close some sort of loop. Perhaps this is going off of the theory that suggests that Sherlock Holmes and John Watson will forever be stuck in a time loop. Their stories will never truly end as more and more film, book, and tv adaptions are made.
If this is in Sherlock’s mind, he’s subconsciously replaying he and John’s first case together.
