I’m reading through all the authorial intent posts about what TPTB have said at Sherlocked…

And? I’m honestly not surprised at all by what they’ve said. They’re saying conflating things with what we’ve see on screen in season 4. Have they ever been straightforward with us? In interviews? No, they haven’t for the most part. There’s always half truths, lies, and sarcastic nonanswers.

By no means does this confirm or deny anything about the show. It does tell us that how TPTB treat us, the hardcore fans, will not change and that we need to take everything with a grain of salt. I know that what they say still angers some people and that’s okay (I really suggest taking a break from con stuff if that’s the case because having a avalanche of TPTB quotes may not be the best thing for a short fuse).

But yeah. All of this is nothing new. And we can expect more of the same in October.

I’m so superbly done with BBC Sherlock’s sham of a PR scheme. It’s manipulative and downright moronic at this point when you look back on it. AND THEN Rachel goes and does this Doctor who tease…like she knows we’d figure out the set Peter was on. HONESTLY. Does she want us to scream to the holy heavens that HOLY F’ING THE DOCTOR/BBC SHERLOCK MIGHT HAVE A CROSSOVER!!?? LOOK AT THIS PIC OMGOMGOMG

No. We aren’t some kind of free PR hype tool to get the show’s fanbase to come back.

Why Did They Promote the Leak?

 How it works: A random guest from the

explain *audience shouting* THAT THING THAT DOESN’T MAKE SENSE!

Why did they promote the leak?

This makes perfect sense if you think
about it. And use a bit of math.

Vertue said to NOT seek it out. Those are two negatives. Which, if you take
simple properties of math, equals a positive. Meaning, they DID want die-hard
fans to find the Russian dub before it aired on BBC.

TPTB knew that the episode was wacko
regardless, and they wanted to use the subtext of a Russian Dub to really hit
home. Sort of like: “We know that this episode makes no sense. It’s not
supposed to. Here’s a dub in a language that has nothing do to with the global political
climate at all. Just to make sure you really understand that there’s nothing to
understand here.”

Why did Mr. Blue Skull change? And why does it glow?

No mental leaps here! Mr Blue Skull
changed to it’s glowy-text counterpart because….

Yes, that’s right. Aliens

Mofftiss, Sue, Martin, Arwel and everyone else in the cast and crew were abducted by aliens right before filming started for Season 4. But not Ben, the Aliens thought he was cool. 

Arwel Wyn Jones was quick to think of a way to show
the audience that something was wrong before being taken away on the ship. “What better way” he thought, “than to
make a prominent art piece on set change so drastically and glow at intermittent
intervals.”

The aliens were smart to abduct them
before filming, but Arwel was smarter. If you watch the glowing, it spells out
Morse code that says “Pink Planet”

Which of course refers to the Pink Planet found 57 light years from earth! 

That explains why the text from A Study in Scarlet is superimposed on the new Mr. Blue Skull. And Arwel knew that we fans would understand the 57 connection!

Someone go save TPTB! It’ll only take you 114 years with current technology!
