garkgatiss:

giving us a whole season that is revealed to be the blog in s5 works because it immediately begs the in-narrative questions “what is the truth?” and, more importantly, “why did john lie about it??” why john lied about how his wife died and what really happened with that is going to narratively fuel ALL OF S5

giving us a whole season (or more…) that is revealed to be a dream in s5 fails narratively because it doesn’t set up anything, it only begs the extra-narrative question of “why have my time and attention been squandered in such a manner”

tjlcisthenewsexy:

There’s so much s4/s5 foreshadowing in TEH, it’s ridiculous. “so the whole thing was a fake” “why would someone go to all that trouble…why indeed” “do you honestly believe that if you have enough stupid theories it’s gonna change what really happened?” ***what really happened, changes***

bonus: **i would have told you i was coming back but i was worried you might let the cat out of the bag**

Won’t it be “funny” when S5 rolls around and Molly is definitely wearing a wedding ring, but no one is ever said to be her spouse.

If it were to be mofftiss and knowing how much they would love to fuck up everyone’s mind, Lestrade will look like he’s wearing a matching wedding ring but on his right hand, Mycroft will wear the exact same ring as Molly’s in his left hand but middle finger,

John will have a matching ring (but of slightly different design) worn as a necklace and you don’t know if it’s meant to be his old wedding ring with Mary? But his wedding ring with Mary didn’t look like that so why is he wearing a necklace with ring that looks like Molly’s?

Sherlock is wearing several rings on all ten fingers, some of it matches Molly’s wedding ring, some of it matches Mary’s, some look like John’s, some of which looks generic, and he says it’s “for a case” while his phone continues to chime with Irene Adler’s moan

And Moriarty is wearing a ring that exactly matches Molly’s in the proper finger where it should be…But it’s kinda like….?? Really?? It can’t be Moriarty, he’s properly using it as leverage? Why is Mycroft’s phone also moaning?

And by the end of the season, none of the questions are answered. Who is Molly married to? Why do Lestrade and John and Mycroft have seemingly similar rings? Why is Sherlock wearing 20 rings on 10 fingers? What leverage was Moriarty trying to play at? No one knows. The hiatus starts. The meta begins. The ship war continues. Moftiss sat back, sips their tea as they laugh at us and the chaos that has ensued

@addignisherlock it blow up my mind. LOL 😂❤

Oh my god XD XD I wasn’t prepared for Sherlock wearing 20 rings lmao

Random stuff while I remember it.

Sue said that season five won’t get planned or written until Ben and Martin commit, and made an offhand comment like “when they’re less busy.” It sounded distant. Steven similarly said that he had no idea at all where the next season would go, and hadn’t thought about it yet. He’s busy with Dr. who now and might take a year off when that’s done.

Something about Mary…..first off, Amanda was supposed to be here but cancelled just a few days ago. Bummer. During my pic signing with Steven I asked him if he felt Mary redeemed herself at the end, or was she still morally dubious. This started a fairly long Mary defense, that she shot Sherlock nicely, that if Sherlock was ok with it why wouldn’t we be, that she had more to overcome in her past thus her moving toward to good had more meaning. He was QUITE QUITE serious, and all my Mary is evil hopes died a sad death. She DID ACTUALLY jump in front of that shot, Steven takes that absolutely for granted, so our pondering of bullet speeds etc. were all in vain. He’s still surprised some people don’t like Mary, and is rather defensive of her.

Moffat told the audience at the the BFI and Radio Times Television Festival in central London: “Neither Benedict, Mark or Martin are against doing more Sherlocks.
“We have a great time making them, it’s a very, very nice bunch of people and we enjoy our reunions very much.”
He said everyone involved in the show is “aware, very aware” how special it is to be a part of.
“And that means two things, we’d never want to do it if we didn’t think we could do it as well as we used to,” he said.
“It also means, we’ll come back to it when we feel we’ve got the right idea.”
He added: “It could be off the earth quite a long while now.
“But I would be surprised, as I’ve said before, if we never made any more Sherlocks.”
Asked if he would consider recasting Cumberbatch and Freeman, who star as duo Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson, he replied: “Absolutely not.”
“You can admire great cinematography, a great score, great writing, great direction, great production,” he said.
“You can admire all those things, but you only fall in love with people.
“And the people you fall in love with are Sherlock, Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman. “You cannot replace them. They are the magic, they are the show.”
Moffat, who is stepping down from his role as writer and executive producer of Doctor Who, said he had “lived through my highlight”.
“I mean I am never ever going to top being the guy who was in charge of Doctor Who and Sherlock at the same time,” he said.
“That’s not possible. I’m not sure I would even want to top that. That’s an amazing thing.”

Boy, he just dangles that carrot, don’t he? Bet he feels a wane in popularity, but they obviously don’t know how to write themselves out of the corner they blocked themselves into.

Lol at #bag of wind, @tendergingergirl

They could have replaced Martin with a cardboard cut out this season for all his character mattered. I’m sure he’s just *itching* to come back. #fuckumoffat

Well, John was awfully good at kicking Sherlock…

Is this a confirmation of series 5?

Actually, I discovered recently while researching for a meta that Steven hints to a confirmed fifth [this quote here and this article here], PLUS Ben has let it slip that the BBC commissioned a fifth season BEFORE they started filming S4.

😀

Oh yes, I am well aware of these previous comments. Just wanted to clarify that Steven yesterday, when asked re the new series, went straight to series 5 in his answer. Pretty sure he did, which means he’s certain that it is on the cards. Thanks for the links though, lost mine ages ago. We need to keep all these together for when the panic erupts over the show ending.

Agreed! ❤ ❤
