We at TPP are saddened about the vibrant Sherlock fandom communities that will be disrupted by Tumblr’s new censorship policies. In response, we are doing a few things to help us find each other on other platforms. We are starting with a friending meme on Twitter! Just hit the RETWEET button to be added to a Sherlock Fandom List so that others can find you on Twitter!

Also, here are all of the places you can find Three Patch Podcast:

The sad thing to me, here, is that they will be flagging nsfw content based on algorithms (we all know how accurate they are), and I would imagine that one of the first things those algorithms will be searching for is tags.  I could be wrong, but it seems likely.

So, I’m assuming, this means that anything tagged nsfw, or blogs already flagged nsfw by their owners, could end up getting purged.

Now, one of the first tenets of being a good fandom citizen is providing a tagging system for your readers/viewers.  I’ve always tried to be a conscientious tagger of all things nsfw, even including mild nudity.  But if their algorithms start flagging that tag, I’ll be in the crosshairs.

So, essentially, anyone here, who was doing the right thing, and working hard to curate safe spaces for their readers is now going to run the risk of getting deleted, or their blogs purged, and that kind of sucks.  This is the opposite of a solution to fixing the very real p0rn problem here, imo.

I will no longer be using the nsfw tag. If any of my followers want to avoid nsfw content, please blacklist vatican cameos.

And if anyone else wants to use the vatican cameos tag in place of nsfw, please do!

Good idea.  I’m going to be doing this.  Thank you.

This is a good idea but keep in mind that people might have been using that tag for something else before. I know in my archives it was used to tag all mentions of it in the show.

Tumblr doomsday update: 4/5

Found a few more flagged posts and amazingly got some popular posts unflagged! YAY!

Also, some more good news-I found a site that can export my blog by tag! Meaning I don’t have to go through and resort everything by hand again. I am over the moon and it should make the whole process of backing up much much easier for me.

Photoshoot inspired by the TJLC community, that in the middle of ups and downs gathered lots of evidences, analysis, metaphors and studies that pointed to a explicit concretization of John and Sherlock’s romantic relationship in Sherlock BBC. Despite the current course of queerbaiting the show seems to take, TJLC is still working and ramifying. Those three years of “conspiracy” served not only to produce more than 50 hours of video content on Youtube or countless essays and metas from Tumblr to Google Drive, but also to awake in its members a hunger for careful and attentive readings of fiction. “One day the true story may be told”, said Arthur Conan Doyle in his last words for Sherlock Holmes. There’s no doubt in that. And if destiny is fair, the story will be told by the hands of a TJLCer.
Get ready to believe and keep believing. TJLC has its own life and we’re part of it.

How do you check to see if your posts/reblogs are flagged? Just view them on your dash? (Sorry for the dumb question, I haven’t been on tumblr for a few days and came back to find it all on fire.)

anotherwellkeptsecret:

That’s how I found out. I’m not sure how else you’d do it. Sorry I’m not much help!

Tumblr said they’d email people a list of the flagged posts? I think? But I’m not sure how much time you’ll have between getting that message/alert and December 17th.

They do seem to be pretty quick about unflagging posts once you send in to be reviewed

Update: Tumblr doomsday Day 3

I may have found some help to archive my blog (thank goodness). I just posted about it below.

If you need help with your blog or know of blogs that are in danger please reach out to them so we don’t lose it!

One post that I had under review has been unflagged, at least we know the process works. And takes about 2 days…ish.

I just got my pillowfort key so I’ll be on today!

This blog will be diverging a bit until this whole tumblr thing is over, I’ll have Sherlock posts sprinkled in among posts to help archive and find fandom after December 17th
