sue vertue: we thought we’d budgeted everything for series 4 properly, but it turns out martin freeman just won’t work without avocado toast ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I feel like Sherlocked US was pretty similar to this.
SHERLOCKED – Props
The slate was auctioned off for $2000.
okay so i’m going to start posting my stories from the con this weekend because a lot happened and i’m antsy to yell about it. so. i want to tell you this thing wanda ventham said. on friday night, there was a drinks reception and everyone sat in groups around the room, and the cast and crew members attending cycled through so we could all talk to them
when wanda was with us, we started talking about s4 specifically and she asked us if we’d all seen all of it, and we were all like “oh yeah” and then she asked “and did you know what it was about?”
everyone said “yeah!” and THEN she was like “but did you know what it was about?” a little bit more slowly and deliberately and at this point everyone’s a little confused and no one’s really answering and i’m leaning so far forward i’m about to fall onto the floor
but then she was just said “oh i really can’t say much more, mark’s right over there” and i’m internally like UH and then she just changed topics to talk about being surprised to find out she had a daughter and i was like UHH and it’s been five days and i’m still. winded
What..
My running theory is that she knows it was mofftiss’s middle finger to the fans and her and Ben and Timothy and Martin shit talk about it all the time but not within earshot of mark or steven
Honestly Wanda….it doesn’t mean anything to anyone, even to hard core fans, if the “something” can’t be figured out. OR the “something” has to actually be there to find. In s4, I’m afraid, it’s missing.
@shezzagirl @txtsfromjohnlock #Sherlocked USA #. More to come
Sherlock: and then as I was offering to help her, she shot me. Right in my gay sensitive heart.
Rosie: whatthefuck ?
Sherlock: oh don’t be she shot me n*cely
Rosie: but how ?
Sherlock: I don’t know ask Mark Gatiss i did not write this fucking show
But lol sorry he died a little totally his fault
I’m trying to think of what to do with my Sherlock DVDs. eBay seems like too much of a pain (and there are lots on there anyway) and I don’t want to donate them anywhere because then I feel like I’m contributing to someone actually watching them. Is there something cathartic or symbolic I could do?
hang them on a string from an eave of the house to keep the woodpeckers away. Toss them like a death frisbee. Shoot them nicely. Beat them with a tire iron. Kick them while they are on the ground. Bury them like our feelings. The possibilities are endless
shoot them nicely
Alright guys, I asked Mark and Steven about Garridebs!
Mark, very sincerely and personably (make of that what you will), agreed with me about the moment’s emotional importance, and expressed that he had really hoped to include the scene. He said that they (I can’t remember his wording exactly) either tried it or he ran through some possible scenarios and it wouldn’t have fit anywhere (this depends on the different opinions of “was Johnlock intended to be fulfilled or not”). He mentioned the writing phenomenon of “kill your babies” when saying how much he wanted to do the scene. He even called it “throttle the nursery” because it was such a big blow to him.
Steven said that there have been plenty of scenes where Sherlock and John’s care for each other has been shown (his exact emphatic words were “yes yes they would just say wow this is my favorite person!”) and so the Garridebs scene would not be a revelation of that care, as it was in the novels in Victorian times. He said the moment itself is “a retelling of The Red Headed League, but not as good”. I could tell that this is a question he’s been asked before or has thought on a lot, because he delivered the answer very straightforward and with an air of, he’s tired of explaining this and finds it very obvious.
So, interpret all this however you want, I mean shit I still have my strong opinions in this. But I’m just very glad to have been able to ask them both, and in a more private and informal setting, and actually get answers.
