I don’t know if anyone’s pointed this out already but I was rewatching earlier episodes and I just noticed that John’s shirt on TGG and MHR are exactly the same but different in color.
John’s shirt in a scene in TGG where John is having a ‘domestic’ with Sherlock.
Red is the color of extremes. It’s the color of passionate love, seduction, violence, danger, anger, and adventure. Things John experience while he’s living with Sherlock. Meanwhile…
John’s shirt in MHR in a scene in John and Mary’s flat where John is presumably still adjusting to domestic life with Mary. Blue, as we all know, is typically associated with sadness, loneliness, and depression – things John experience while he’s living with Mary, his future wife.
It just makes me extra sad that John is willing to spend the rest of his life ‘in blue’ by proposing to Mary.
Remember in TGG when John and Sherlock are having a small argument after Sherlock shoots the wall? Then this would lead to Sherlock insulting John and his blog, and John would walk out to meet Sarah, right?
Here’s the fight as it takes place.
John’s face says it all. He’s pretty offended by Sherlock’s words, and he has a right to be. He ends up leaving for Sarah’s, and once he sees news of the explosion on TV, he races back to 221B to find that Sherlock is okay.
In fact, Sherlock’s talking with his brother Mycroft right in the middle of the singed living room.
After Mycroft leaves, Sherlock immediately takes a case from Lestrade.
The important line here, as ever, is the line that gets me every time.
“I’d be lost without my blogger”.
(Love it!)
But see, Sherlock is saying this after he’s basically trashed a bit on John’s blog. For him to say this is contradicting and doesn’t make sense, right?
Wrong.
When I first watched this episode, I didn’t quite catch it; I only saw it as a great line. This realization didn’t come to me until now, after a few times of watching the episode.
Guys, Sherlock was apologizing to John.
Some people say that Sherlock apologizes for the first time in the show to Molly, at the Christmas party in ASIB, but that’s only partly true. Yes, that was the first time he says sorry explicitly and openly to a person.
But this is his way of showing his seemingly nonexistent feelings,
ok i knew in like i think tgg theres a shot of them sitting opposite each other in the cab like you can see it from the outside BUT THEYRE CLEARLY ON THE SAME SIDE HERE IN TBB TOO LIKE OH?? MY GOD HOW OFTEN DID THEY SIT LIKE THIS???? THEIR KNEES ARE LIKE. THEY HAVE TO BE. touching theyre like. theres no room in there what the ufckck
The first bomb is actually attached to John. Sherlock and John are present at all three incidents. Mycroft is personally at 221b and metaphorically at Westminster. Is he perhaps somehow at the pool as well? If AGRA was employed by the government, and Mary was a sniper at the pool? Who did call Moriarty off? We are to believe it was Irene, but is that true? Three people, again and again… Whom will Sherlock choose? Mycroft or John? Saint or sinner? Family by blood or by choice?
ooh!! this is so interesting though, to me this suggests 2 things:
1) if they had gone with this script, it implies Sherlock’s “i’m a cold sociopath” facade is due to the trauma of witnessing his parents break up. Maybe he saw them and idolized their relationship and to have it end up like that feels like reality slap in the face that “love isn’t real, it will never last, everything ends in heartbreak, etc” and that’s why he’s sworn off any kind of relationship, friendship or otherwise (coz he doesnt even have any friends, even with lestrade he keeps his distance kinda). That is until John came into his life
2) this alone proves that moftiss didn’t plan Eurus’ existence “since the very beginning”. Because both eurus and the scrapped parent divorce seems to try to explain why sherlock closed his heart the way he did. And if they wrote THIS in s1, it means there was no eurus planned yet back then
…..either that or eurus secretly invented time travel and gave moftiss td-12 x’D
In his best man speech Sherlock says a lot of disparaging things about marriage. They script always seemed to screen familial problems I the Holmes family
The ASIP script includes the deleted bit they had released in Sherlock Chronicles with Lestrade talking to Sherlock on the roof of NSY. Maybe there are more scenes in there that didn’t make it into the final episodes.
